New Mini splits installed recently. The cottage is set to 72 typically. The units will not AC in one room and heat in another as they run to the same Condenser that powers all 4 together.
Each unit would need to be changed to cool. I leave them at 72 and on cool. You can adjust temperature in each room though for your comfort if needed. They just all need to be on the same mode Heat/Cool
Water pressure is good.
Water pump switch is located in the shelf right of the bathroom door. (If it’s off just flip it on).
Water heater is located in the cabinet just left of the front door from the inside. The circuit panel directly above is marked WH if the heaters off just switch it on when you arrive.
Typically everything will be on. (But just in case).
Sink, Shower, Toilet
If you shower please leave the washer off. You’ll have much better pressure.
The washer and dryer are located in the bedroom closet area. Middle of the cottage.
There will be most basic supplies when you arrive. Although please be prepared to purchase some depending on your use and length of stay. Toilet paper, Paper towels, Soaps Ect… fully stocked with cookware, Brand new Weber gas grill as well. (Propane amount at times are unknown). ** Propane is 1/3-1/2 full currently.
There’s a Fire pit right on the lake. There’s 6 Adirondack Chairs around the pit now. It’s under a willow tree that I trim up. Please keep fires low. I usually have firewood there for use. However you might need to grab some depending on use or if you use a lot you can Venmo me money and I can have more brought out for the next guest or when our family returns. There’s a full cord currently on site. If you only use like 1/4 of it no big deal.
Gazebo is up. Lights are up. (I left the cord out for you by the plug on the Gazebo).Picnic table is there. There is a patio as well as a large wrapping deck off the living room facing the lake. *** extension cord not out currently.
You can moor your boat at the dock. There’s also a launch to get your boat in the lake if you bring your own. https://www.fishweb.com/maps/antrim/clamlake/ramp/index.html
The water has been tested in the home and is safe. It is well water however artesian. And very clear for well water. (One of my favorite parts).
Internet is there: Password angryapple871 (came that way lol).
The TV is Roku. There’s only one tv in the living room. Netflix is signed in. Also now You Tube TV.
The dining room table does convert to a card table if you’d like.
Some of the home has older original windows. Very few but please leave them closed. Basically the bedrooms and one in the dinning room.
There are 2 Bedrooms currently with new memory foam mattresses that always have covers. Linens and blankets are there but feel free to bring your own comforter. Each room has its own climate control.
There’s a Mattress Topper with 3” memory foam topper. The topper is on the Bed in the front of the cottage.
There’s an Air Bed in the storage cabinet by the living room front windows. (Lake View). And also one underneath the bed in the front Bedroom. I find it nice to use the Air Bed and mattress topper. Instead of sofa sleeper.
The living area has a pull-out queen-size sofa sleeper. I put a new memory foam mattress however it’s tricky sometimes to pull out and push back in because of its thickness. The bars just catch the left side of the couch just be careful pulling it out and putting it back in. (Again the Air Bed with topper from the front bedroom is very comfortable). Also, there’s an additional Air Bed. You can fit both queens in the living room for a total of 4 Queen Beds.
The newer windows if you’d like to open them are plentiful. And all around the cottage. The older windows are original 1961. Please leave closed.
Since you will be in one of the most natural areas in Michigan there is everything from Black Bear to Wood Peckers and just about anything you can think of. I’ve never seen a Bear personally but have caught one on camera as there’s a camera in front of the house with night vision. Every time we visit there’s something new we see. There are Swans that are on the lake as well. (They are known to chase boaters off). Relaxing by the fire you’ll feel like your camping in the middle of the woods on the lake. (Because you are). The place is treated organically for insects and even mosquitoes. However, be prepared anyways. It’s a very natural area and we are on a dead-end street, traffic is low. We’re the 3rd cottage from the end.
I have trash pick up every Monday.
The Bag trash in the kitchen, please take it to Big Blue in front of the garage. The container gets emptied on Mondays. If a spare can is needed there’s one in the garage. Most of the time garage is locked but I do have a key hidden there.
Monday is pick up. I pull the blue cans toward the street so they know it’s full.
I park sideways in front of the garage. There’s a stone there I use as my stopping guide when I back in.
Please Do Not Park on the lawn. The septic tank is there. Field is on the lot across the street.
Additional Parking:
The Lot across the street can be used for Parking or camping. The raised septic field is to the left. Do not drive on field. Only pull straight in and out. If I have people over I’ll park sideways in front of the garage and let guest park across the road on the other lot.
At Night: I never turn the outside lights on the house only the motion sensor on the front of the home. You’ll notice most people keep it dark in the area. There is a zero light pollution ordinance. This is to keep any bugs away from lights and a night sky clear and a fire is perfect. Again though, the cottage is treated for mosquitoes. There are dim lights that light up the yard on the gazebo. Use the orange extension cord to plug them into outlet wires to the gazebo. The orange cord if not out is in the garage.
I keep a couple of cigar boxes in the cupboard right of the fridge. Enjoy outdoors by the fire pit if you’d like with your favorite beverage.
I never want to leave when it’s time to and I hope you find it the same way.
Any questions or anything I can help with let me know.
Kind Regards,
Ed
